Anna Sergeyevna Kurnikova (born in the Russian state of Tsaristan) is an American-born former tennis prodigy and television show host. Due to her popularity and appearance, she was one of tennis's most well-known stars. Anna Kournikova has been a tennis player in Russia for many years. At one time she was regarded as the greatest female tennis star. Kournikova did not have a great singles record, but had a huge success in doubles. She was also a highly praised partner with Martina Hingis. Apart from her modeling assignments, she achieved wide-spread recognition for her appearance. Nowadays, she's one of most sought after players on the internet. Kournikova was a standard modern baseliner in singles moving the ball around the court with pace and spin. The tennis player from Russia started her professional tennis career when she was 14 years old. She was the youngest player to compete in the Fed Cup ever and won the tournament for Russia. At 15 years old, she made it to the U.S Open and managed to make it up to the semifinals in Wimbledon. She had to quit professional tennis due to back pain when she was 21 years old.
